Pepsi Can’t Decide April 25, 2009

On the contrary, I’ve long decided I don’t really like Pepsi. For one, I can’t completely remember how it tastes like, and now, I don’t think I’m even gonna remember how it LOOKS like.

(Borrowed from here.)
And possibly because of that indecision, the world has decided it wants to paint itself Red instead:

Off to the supermarket to check if this new look has been applied locally. Meanwhile, why don’t you tell me what you think?

Poor little Mac Book slave, say hello to your new friend, lulu.
Bye bye, ugly grey laptop bag, time for you to take a shower and find a new owner. ;p
PhP1,260 (USD34 online, boo!) in hellolulu alabang town center (50th Ave, Food Choices Level).
Super light. And yes! I can now change my laptop bag at whim! Cover flap has pouch for adapter and other little trinkets. Has back pocket for documents. And a photo sleeve, in case you want to keep photos of your dog where your laptop is.
I love.
Get a dog. February 9, 2009

RealAge says that my real age is 26. And that to alter these results, I should get a dog.
Why I’m 26 and not 23 in real life:
I…
1. (HEALTH) Don’t know my cholesterol and blood pressure levels (neither does my eleven year-old sister).
2. (HABITS) Don’t have airbags in my car, I sleep too much, use the cellphone while driving (they made headsets for the damned thing, idiots!)
3. (RELATIONSHIPS) Stress out too much (I just ticked the “I got stressed this month” box, idiots!) and I DON’T HAVE A DOG.
4. (DIET) Don’t have enough vitamins E and C, folic acid, calcium, potassium, too much red meat… I don’t eat my veggies
5. (FITNESS) Do only the bare minimum exercise, don’t know my heart rate and neglect my muscles.
Ladies and gentlemen, I drink iron supplements, run daily and eat my vegetables. I sometimes sleep for 10 hours because I can. I don’t have airbags in my car because it didn’t come with airbags.
Some people may have 20 dogs and are therefore rated 10 years younger than their real age. I have no dogs, but I have a God, a few but very, very good friends, a great big family and a driver’s license that proves my real age. I’m really just 23.

Why Say 25 When You Can Say 20 February 6, 2009

The facebook craze has tagged me.
1. For a girl who was born and raised in a country surrounded by so much water, I can’t swim. But I can float like a corpse (belly up or face down. I’m really trying to get a cameo role in CSI.)
2. I never had anything Lisa Frank (yes, Lisa Frank!), so I sometimes get colorful unicorn nightmares of my childhood deprivation. Not.
3. I sneeze after every first bite/intake of chocolate and mint.
4. I grew up without television. As in no TV at all for 20 years. I’m 23, and NO, I don’t think the TV is god’s gift to mankind. And I don’t sniff/taste it as I imagine a Neanderthal would in this same situation.
5. Because I feel like number 4 struck you (and because I’m feeling), I redirected you to this blog to read the rest of this list.
6. I put calamansi on my Jolibee spaghetti because it’s too sweet.
7. I learned the basics of motherhood at an early age of 10, when my 2 then-infant sisters were left in my care after school hours.
8. I love rice. I once had 5 refills of Tokyo Tokyo rice.
9. I love my Uncle Vito’s kambing dishes: pinapaitan, kilawin, kaldereta, sisig.
10. I used to be a gymnast. As in balance beam routines, parallel bars, rhythmic gymnastics (ribbon included), body contortion, those vault thingeys. Then my coach had to go to Germany and he convinced me to quit. So I now hide my frustrated athlete self in the gym, and sometimes I wanna quit coz it gets so boring running so fast on the treadmill and getting nowhere.
11. In grade school, my baon was always Pimiento Sandwich and I hated Pimiento. Hindi pa uso nun yung “isipin mo na lang, Ham yan.”
12. I enjoy alone time.
13. For most of my life, I disliked boys. But I like big cars, I listen to Boys’ Night Out on Magic and I drive like a guy.
14. Speaking of driving, I love it. It’s therapeutic.
15. I drove my family to Baguio with and expired license. On the way, we got caught twice for tailgating and for having no permit to have top load. Our honorable road watchers didn’t see the expiry date of my license. That, or my guardian angel changed it for a while.
16. I want to be French.
17. I’m the inspiration for the line from the famous Sandwich song “Sa Jingle magazine, natutong mag-gitara”. I learned by myself in 6th grade and my first song was Father and Son by Cat Stevens. My next song was Bridge Over Troubled Water. My third was Linger by The Cranberries. My guitar is a hand-me-down from my mother. My grandparents bought it for her when she was in 7th grade. I’ll play the guitar while you do the math on that one.
18. I couldn’t speak English for the first 2 quarters of my Grade 1 life (hence, I barely talked to any one at all). Then our class adviser called my mom’s attention on the 3rd. I was already too talkative.
19. I worshipped, adored, idolized Barbie Almalbis for a good period of time. But post-Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle’s first album, that fanaticism died a natural death.
20. I have a habit of cutting things short when they start to drag, like my hair and this list.
